Tom Chilton’s professional career in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) began in 2002. At just 17, he became the youngest driver to ever compete in the series. He raced for Barwell Motorsport in a Vauxhall Astra Coupé. He secured his first pole position in 2004 at Silverstone and his first race win a year later.
Chilton established himself as a consistent competitor and race winner in the BTCC, driving for several notable teams including Arena Motorsport (Team Aon) and Team Dynamics. His career took an international turn in 2012 when he moved to the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). He competed in the WTCC for six seasons, driving for RML, ROAL Motorsport, and Sébastien Loeb Racing.
